Convert GeoJSON to Shapefile
Create the classic four-part GIS format from a web-friendly GeoJSON file for legacy software, exchanges and established workflows.
Upload one .geojson,.json file.
How this conversion works
Feature properties become DBF fields and mixed base geometry types are separated into independent Shapefile sets inside one ZIP.
GeoJSON stores geometries and properties in one readable JSON document. It is excellent for web maps, but unlike a GeoPackage it is not designed as a multi-layer spatial database.
What the Shapefile result contains
The download is a ZIP containing the required .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj sidecars. Shapefile permits only one geometry type per layer and limits field names to ten characters.
Check before you use the result
- Shapefile field names are shortened to ten characters.
- Nested JSON values do not have a native DBF equivalent and may be serialised rather than kept as nested structures.
GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
