Convert GeoJSON to GeoPackage
Turn a web interchange file into a compact, indexed GIS database with explicit CRS metadata and typed columns.
Upload one .geojson,.json file.
How this conversion works
GeoJSON features and properties become a GeoPackage vector layer. The WGS 84 source reference is stored inside the resulting file.
GeoJSON stores geometries and properties in one readable JSON document. It is excellent for web maps, but unlike a GeoPackage it is not designed as a multi-layer spatial database.
What the GeoPackage result contains
GeoPackage is a single SQLite-based GIS file that supports typed attributes, long field names, CRS metadata and several geometry types without Shapefile's sidecar-file limits.
Check before you use the result
- JSON arrays or nested objects do not map to ordinary relational columns without serialisation.
- GeoJSON styling lives outside the format and therefore cannot become a GeoPackage style automatically.
GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
