Convert KML to GeoJSON
Turn a Google Earth document into the native interchange format used by many browser maps and JavaScript GIS tools.
Upload one .kml file.
How this conversion works
KML placemarks become GeoJSON features, while their vector geometry and data fields are written to a WGS 84 FeatureCollection.
KML combines vector geometry, attributes and Google Earth presentation. Data conversions keep the geometry and usable fields; styling and folder presentation do not map cleanly to every target.
What the GeoJSON result contains
GeoJSON is written in WGS 84 by default for reliable use in browsers and web-mapping libraries. Geometry and properties share one FeatureCollection.
Check before you use the result
- Icons, balloon styling and folder colours describe presentation and are not reproduced in GeoJSON.
- Nested KML folders may become flat layer or attribute information rather than a visible tree.
GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
