How this conversion works

Points are written as waypoints and lines as tracks. GeoVerto transforms compatible KML content to GPX's fixed WGS 84 coordinate system.

KML combines vector geometry, attributes and Google Earth presentation. Data conversions keep the geometry and usable fields; styling and folder presentation do not map cleanly to every target.

What the GPX result contains

GPX is written in WGS 84. Points become waypoints and lines become tracks; polygons cannot be represented and are skipped with a conversion warning.

Check before you use the result

  • GPX has no polygon geometry, so polygon features are skipped with a warning.
  • KML styling and arbitrary ExtendedData exceed GPX's fixed schema and cannot all be retained.

GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
