Convert GML to GeoJSON
Turn verbose, schema-driven XML into the compact JSON feature format used by web maps and data APIs.
Upload one .gml file.
How this conversion works
GeoVerto reads the GML srsName, transforms geometry to WGS 84 and writes compatible feature properties into one GeoJSON collection.
GML is schema-driven XML commonly returned by WFS and public-sector downloads. It can be much larger than an equivalent GeoPackage, and specialised application schemas may need dedicated tooling.
What the GeoJSON result contains
GeoJSON is written in WGS 84 by default for reliable use in browsers and web-mapping libraries. Geometry and properties share one FeatureCollection.
Check before you use the result
- NAS, ALKIS and other specialised application schemas need domain-specific processing and are not promised here.
- GML may contain multiple feature types; a single GeoJSON collection may require choosing the relevant layer.
GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
