Convert GeoPackage to Shapefile
Export modern GeoPackage data into the older interchange format expected by many established GIS workflows.
Upload one .gpkg file.
How this conversion works
Geometry and attributes are written to the Shapefile sidecars, with the layer CRS recorded in .prj and mixed geometry separated where necessary.
GeoPackage keeps geometry, typed attributes, long field names and CRS definitions in one database file. A file may contain several vector layers, so check the analysed layer list before converting to a single-layer format.
What the Shapefile result contains
The download is a ZIP containing the required .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj sidecars. Shapefile permits only one geometry type per layer and limits field names to ten characters.
Check before you use the result
- A GeoPackage may contain several layers while one Shapefile set represents one layer and geometry type.
- Long field names are shortened to the Shapefile limit of ten characters.
GeoVerto reports the detected format, feature count and coordinate-system evidence before starting the job. Treat a low-confidence or missing CRS as a data question to resolve, not a value the converter should silently guess.
